JOHANNESBURG – I listened to the debate on Palestine in the Security Council on Wednesday, 28th May 2025.
What is happening in Gaza and on Palestinians goes against the United States doctrine of freedom and fair play.
If Gaza is a reflection of American norms, then the whole world will be “to hell with the United States of American politics”, especially with Donald Trump tossing his weight around.
To understand the American attitude, we must go back to history to see where it all began. There was no state of Israel before 1948.
As the Second world war cleared the US army, it discovered the Jews at Auschwitz and other death chambers in Germany.
The British, who administered Palestine under the League of Nations and the USA, bolstered by considerable wealth from war supplies to Europe, and attaching the biblical context of Zion, believed they could rescue Jews by establishing the “Promised Land” of Zion.
Zion is a hill near the Jerusalem temple established by King David, the father of Solomon, the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac. Isaac was the son of Abraham, who migrated from Ur in Mesopotamia.
Jacob was named Israel.
After the second World War, the world was fragmented, giving Britain and the USA so much muscle.
They carried out Austrian Jewish journalist Theodor Harzel’s campaign of establishing a Jewish homeland which started the Word Zionist Organisation and its first congress in Basel, Switzerland in 1897.
On 4th May 1948, David Ben Gurion read the Declaration of Independence of Eretz Israel from colonial Britain at the end of its United Nations (UN) mandate.
The US and Britain forced the State of Israel by annexing Palestine, tearing the hitherto arrangement of Israel in the North and Judah in the South.
This was the anchour of strife, conflict and offensive Semitism. For example, nobody contextualized why the Jews were always in conflict among themselves and under attack wherever they were.
It is clear this region will experience more conflicts ahead.
For now, Israel is covered by the major powers, but power erodes. All the powerful empires of the past are no longer there.
The Ottoman Empire has gone. So was the Roman Empire, the British Empire. The American Empire has reached its peak and will wane soon. Signs are very much clear as China rises. History repeats itself.
Israel has a right to self-defence, but the amount of force should be proportional to extinguish the threat and excludes bombing children, women and the elderly.
Hamas is no longer capable of launching any significant threat. Backed by experience and skill Israel should be able to isolate who Hamas fighters are instead of indiscriminate bombing using home-made and scotching US bombs, crossing the boundaries from self-defence to genocide.
The spirit of good neighbourliness has also been damaged irreparably.
Every family tree, all of us, no matter how we look, can be traced to an ancestor in Africa.
All humanity came from Africa in their deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Genesis 10 says Noah’s children were Shem, Ham and Japheth.
These three had children, after the flood. The children of Ham included Cush who, by God’s help in Genesis 10:8, occupied Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt, Libya and Canaan which bear those names.
Cush had a son, Nimrod whose kingdom extended to Canaan, Babylon, Assyria, who built the cities of Nineveh, Reboboth, Calah, Resen, among others.
The oldest human archaeological finds by Lyad Zalmout, a palaeontologist with Saudi Geological Survey was the remarkable 1.3 inch long (3.2 cm) fossil finger at Al Wusta in the Nefud Desert in 2016 which was radiometric dated to about 85,000 years old, a homo sapiens from Africa.
That period coincided with the time of biblical Abraham, closing any doubt that Abraham was not likely the breed of Jews we see today.
Cognition and civilization started in Africa and these Africans were everywhere in Europe.
There are rock paintings of the texture found in Africa, at Jubbah in the Arabian Hail Province, a UNESCO World heritage site.
In Manot Cave in Western Galilee in Northern Israel, a skull belonging to a modern homo sapiens was discovered in 2008 and published on 28 January 2015 after radiometric dating showing that it was 54,700 years old and of African origin.
Later evidence of homo sapiens movement in the region of Israel was found in Misliya Curve in Israel, dated 19,400 years old.
That linked with Genesis 9 and 10 and the evolution of mankind which started in Africa, migrating into the Mediterranean coastal areas and crossing into Spain, up to France where rock paintings similar to those in Southern Africa were found.
Will Africans claim Israel as their own in future.
Abraham migrated from Ur to Canaan, Israel the promised land. Ur was the ancient Sumerian city of Mesopptamia, in southern Iraq.

The settlement of Abraham involved conquest. That is the cause of the conflict in the region. Further, it is most unlikely that white people of the ilk of Netanyahu were from Ur.
Therefore the Jews in Israel today were not the inhabitants of Israel. White Jews were planted into Israel, by the United States and Britain, causing conflict and resentment.
The settlement of current white Israelis needs a peace accord, not military might.
Over time the region will be more powerful and the American authoritarian approach will also mutate.
Only a peace accord of the two state solution will be the lasting answer. The current political strategy of the US, United Kingdom (UK) and Israel is short sighted.
