Top African marketers honoured at AMC awards

by RUSSELL ADADEVOH
ACCRA – THE winners of the 2025 African Marketing Confederation (AMC) Awards were unveiled at a glittering banquet dinner at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, marking the conclusion of the AMC’s annual continental conference.

Selected from more than 60 nominations across Africa, the awards recognised excellence in marketing innovation, creativity, and impact. Helen McIntee-Carlisle, AMC President and Co-Founder, praised the quality of submissions, noting that the calibre of entries reflected a thriving and dynamic marketing sector across the continent.

“With nominations from all over Africa, judges faced a tough task in selecting the final winners,” McIntee-Carlisle said. “These campaigns embody the conference theme, ‘Thriving in Africa’s Evolving Markets: Trust, Trends, and Technology.’ They represent marketing at its best – innovative, authentic, and impactful.”

The awards highlighted diverse achievements, with Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Ghana among the countries represented by winning campaigns. Categories ranged from cause-related marketing to social media, tourism, and brand of the year.

Key winners included Cadbury’s “Give A Generous Voice to Storytime”, which claimed both Best Use of Local Insights and the coveted Campaign of the Year title. Uganda Waragi shone brightly, securing Brand of the Year and two gold awards for its campaigns “Arresting Attention” and “From Limited Edition to Limitless Icon.” Zambia Tourism Agency’s “Visit Zambia” took gold for Best Tourism & Destination Marketing Campaign, while Mastercard’s “Sails of Change” earned gold in the Best Cause-Related Campaign category.

The AMC emphasised that the awards go beyond individual recognition, serving as a platform for showcasing African creativity, fostering professional collaboration, and boosting global visibility for brands and campaigns.

“These winners highlight Africa’s abundance of talent,” said McIntee-Carlisle. “We hope their success inspires the next generation of marketers as we embrace the exciting intersection of technology and creativity.”

By rewarding innovation and impact, the AMC Awards continue to position Africa as a hub of world-class marketing excellence.
