HARARE – SCOTTISH Premiership side – Motherwell Football Club winger Tawanda Maswanhise has signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027, with an option for a further year.
The 22-year-old Zimbabwe international has been in electric form this season, netting four goals in the group stage of the Premier Sports Cup and claiming July’s Player of the Month award.
Since joining from Leicester City, England a year ago, Maswanhise has made 40 appearances for the Steelmen, scoring ten goals.
His blistering pace and direct attacking play have quickly made him a key figure in Jens Berthel Askou’s side.
“Since joining Motherwell, Tawanda has made huge strides in his development,” Askou said.
“His speed and aggressiveness are a constant threat to defences, and his desire to improve is outstanding. We’re delighted he will remain with us for the years ahead,” Askou added.
Maswanhise expressed his happiness at staying put, praising the club’s environment and support. “I’ve truly enjoyed my time here. The fans, players, and staff are fantastic, and I’ve felt valued from day one. Signing this deal was an easy decision. I’ll keep working hard to give my all for the club.”
With his form showing no signs of slowing, Motherwell will be hoping Maswanhise’s commitment helps drive their push for success in the 2025/26 campaign.
