JOHANNESBURG – BUOYED by their emphatic MTN8 semifinal victory over Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates return to league action on Tuesday when they host Orbit College in a Betway Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium.
Both teams sit mid-table with three points apiece from their opening three matches. Pirates occupy 11th place, one spot above newcomers Orbit College, making the tie crucial for either side to climb the standings.
The biggest fixture of the week, however, comes on Wednesday when Kaizer Chiefs welcome Sundowns to FNB Stadium.
Chiefs, level on nine points with Sekhukhune United at the summit, are only second on goal difference.
Sundowns, smarting from their 4-1 humbling by Pirates, remain third with seven points but boast the depth and quality to bounce back.
Elsewhere on Tuesday, Polokwane City (7th, four points) host Durban City (4th, seven points) in a contest too close to call.
Bottom-placed Richards Bay face fellow strugglers Chippa United, while Stellenbosch (14th) meet fifth-placed Marumo Gallants in a tricky encounter.
TS Galaxy will also battle Siwelele in Mpumalanga in a match expected to provide fireworks.
