Huawei reveals connecting over 120 million in remote area

by SAVIOUS KWINIKA
JOHANNESBURG – SOME 120 million people in remote areas are connected through Huawei infrastructure.

More than 600 global certifications show Huawei’s commitment to security.

The company also created 3 billion kWh of clean energy to power operations.

This is according to an official at a Huawei ICT Editors Xchange in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

“But beyond technology, it’s about people and creating new ways for them to achieve their goals,” said Charles Cheng, Deputy CEO at Huawei Africa.

“This is possible through infrastructure that listens, adapts, and empowers partners to innovate faster,” Cheng said.

Cheng added: “Today, we explore how ecosystems scale with purpose, through collaboration, openness, and infrastructure designed for the long term.”

It was the sixth edition of the Editors’ Xchange.

Cheng’s presentation was held under the theme, “Ecosystems That Scale the Future.”
