CAPE TOWN – CAPE Town International Airport (CTIA) passenger volume growth is forecast to grow significantly with a number of international airlines increasing their frequencies on the route.
Wesgro, the official tourism, trade, and investment promotion agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape province, provided an update, also reporting, for April 2025, a 13 percent year-on-year increase in passenger volumes over the past year.
Edelweiss Air is to add an additional frequency to its Zurich–Cape Town (CPT) route for the upcoming International Air Transport Association (IATA) Winter season, taking the carrier to five frequencies per week.
“In addition, Edelweiss will introduce an A350-900 on the route from January 2026,” Wesgro confirmed.
Air France will increase frequencies on its Paris–CPT service for the upcoming Winter season, from four to five flights per week. From December 15 to January 12,2026 the carrier will operate a daily service.
In addition, the route will be serviced by an A350-900 from October 2025.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is to increase frequencies on the Amsterdam–CPT route from daily to eleven flights weekly for the upcoming Winter season.
TAAG Angola Airlines added an additional frequency on its Luanda–CPT route, increasing the service to ten times per week from May 10.
Norway’s Norse Atlantic Airways will extend its season by a month, beginning operations from the start of October.
In addition, the carrier will be increasing frequencies on its London Gatwick–CPT service from three to four flights weekly from December 2025.
